Phase 1: Bertha Bus Alliteration Activity

Bertha Bus Alliteration

About This Primary Resource

A fun activity based around the Department of Education’s phonics character Bertha the Bus, in which Bertha travels to the zoo and meets lots of different animals along the way. This resource contains images of a variety of animals beginning with the same letters (i.e. lion, leopard, lobster and ladybird) which can be cut out and laminated to make them more hard wearing. The children then repeat the rhyme and take one card at a time out of the bag to find out who Bertha saw on her trip to the zoo. This activity is taken from the DfE Letters and Sounds programme and can be found on page 37 of the phase 1 booklet.
