Stories / Traditional Tales
This section contains an extensive collection of resources to help with the teaching of popular early years stories and fairytales. These resources are completely unofficial and are not endorsed by the publishers. They have been created using original ELHQ artwork to support the teaching of these stories at home or in school or nursery. The stories have been selected because we recognise and appreciate their quality and as such we would encourage you to purchase copies of any of the books featured in this section, if you do not already have copies.
All of our story resources are listed below but here’s a few quick links to some of the more popular traditional tales: Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Jack and the Beanstalk, The Gingerbread Man.
We hope you find these resources useful and if you have an idea for another story resource then please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
We will be adding more resources to this section in the weeks ahead but for now we have our original and unofficial Handa’s Hen song which reinforces certain aspects of the story and promotes basic numeracy skills at the same time.
Elmer the Elephant by David McKee is always a very popular story with early years children, in this section we have a variety of teaching resources that will support your teaching of this topic.
Puss in Boots tells the tale of a cunning cat and his quest to gain princesses hand in marriage for his lowly master. The resources below have been specifically created to support the teaching of this story in your key stage 1 (KS1) classroom or early years (EYFS) setting.
