About This Primary Resource

This dance activity will help children to understand the different kinds of exercise by introducing them to 3 characters: Mr Muscle, Miss Flexible and Captain Cardio. The children are then given different exercises to do and ask to name which character would do it as well.

This activity was created by Caroline Newman, aka The Dance Lady, an experienced dance and fitness instructor. She teaches a variety of fun and engaging fitness classes and can provide lesson plans, resources and schemes of work to help teachers develop skills to teach through dance.

The bright colours and clear images are brilliant for my SEN pupils. For a lot of the children routines are really important, so the visual timetable in particular has been a big hit.
