Sensory Play Ideas & Inspiration

About This Primary Resource

This download features a large collection of sensory play ideas to use with children. As well some general guidance about sensory play there are 5 documents giving ideas along the following themes:
- Water play
- Playdough
- Slimey and gooey media
- Sand and sand substitutes
- Small world play

Each of these documents is between 3 and 8 pages long so you'll find lots of inspiration including many recipes for sensory play ideas that you can try at home or in a school / early years setting.

The small world play document includes lots of sensory ideas for re-enacting stories such as Stickman, We're going on a bear hunt, Frozen and The three little pigs. It also has ideas for pirate, farm, construction and dinosaur small world play.

Together these documents form a really comprehensive and time saving resource suitable for both parents and teachers.

All of the story resources have been put to good use in our library corner, especially during World Book Day. Keep up the good work!

The bright colours and clear images are brilliant for my SEN pupils. For a lot of the children routines are really important, so the visual timetable in particular has been a big hit.
