The use of video in the classroom

Over the next few months I will be taking a look at some simple ways to encourage the use of technology with Lower Primary teachers. Younger pupils are able to express a lot more through talk than writing, for obvious reasons, so why are they not the most prevalent users of technology in capture this?

I am passionate about Virtual Learning Environment and would like to see younger pupils engaging with them. Sadly the general consensus is that younger learners are not being considered to be able to use them. Through using simple techniques to build video, photo and audio resources for classwork that can easily be uploaded to the VLE. Teachers can empower parents to become part of their child’s learning through the extended ‘Virtual classroom’ and, hopefully updating the VLE can be a simple, worthwhile and enjoyable process for the teacher (not an extra chore that nobody looks at).

This is the first of my youtube videos exploring a simple technique for incorporating video in the classroom. I hope to make videos about audio and photography over the next few months so keep a look out on my website, the EarlyLearning HQ blog or subscribe to my youtube channel.
