Our Favourite Christmas Teaching Resources – 2011

It’s two weeks until Christmas and I’m sure by now you’ve sorted your displays and planned all your festive activities for your school or early years setting. Nevertheless I thought I’d give a quick run through of some of the  Christmas resources available on the site.

Old favourites

Our collection of illustrated Christmas word cards have probably been the most popular of the Christmas resources on the site. I know that many people like the fact that they have editable text boxes and so are suitable for use in many different languages.

The large display posters that we put on the site last years have also proved popular again this year…

The various editable party and carol service poster templates (https://www.earlylearninghq.org.uk/celebrations-festivals/christmas/) also seem to have proved useful for many of you as have our templates for letters to and from Santa.

New resources

This year we’ve been fortunate to be able to outsource a few of the resources and draw on the skill and expertise of some very talented people.

A couple of our guest bloggers have contributed some original Christmas songs: Jesus was born in Bethlehem and Santa’s on his way. They are both ideal to be used in Schools, nurseries or at home.

We’ve also been able to commission some Christmas themed work from a few very creative graphic designers. First off Amardip Bhopari has designed some really beautiful Christmas labels with editable text. She’s also created a Christmas number track, again with editable text. Finally, she put together an Advent Calendar which I would say is as colourful and attractive as any that you’d buy in the shops. This also includes some blank pages with just the 24 boxes so children can create their own unique Advent Calendars.

We’ve also been fortunate to receive a Christmas maze puzzle from Eva Higueras and some wonderful Christmas stick puppets from Sonia Pihlajaniemi.

Although Christmas is fast approaching we’re quite happy to keep working on some festive designs so if you have any ideas for Christmas themed resources you’d like to see on the site just let us know.
