UK Based Children’s Charities

Needless to say, there are absolutely loads of wonderful children’s charities who do amazing work  to promote the welfare of children both here in the UK and across the world. Here’s a selection of some of the UK-based organisations that we particularly like. This is not meant to be an exhausitive list and if you would like to give a mention to an alternative charity please feel free to leave a comment below.

The Wallace and Gromit Foundation

A national charity for children’s health that raises money for sick children in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK.

 

Save the Children

Save the Children works in more than 120 countries. Their goals is to save children’s lives, fight for their rights and help them fulfil their potential. 

 

The Children’s Society

Through their lobbying and research the Children’s Society seek to influence child protection policy and perceptions at all levels so young people have a better chance in life.

 

4Children

4Children develop, influence and shape national policy on all aspects of the lives of children, young people and families. As the Government’s strategic partner for early years and childcare they have a crucial role in co-producing policy with the Department of Education and representing the sector’s views and experiences.

 

Hope For Children

Hope for Children is a small charity that helps some of the most disadvantaged children in the World. They work in 10 countries across Africa, Asia and Europe, working in areas largely unreached by other charities. 

 

The NSPCC

The NSPCC’s work is focused on helping those children who are in greatest danger and distress. Their ultimate goal is to end cruelty to children in the UK.

 

Bernado’s

Bernado’s works directly with over 190,000 children, young people and their families every year, running over 800 projects across the UK. Their aim is to bring out the best in any child, no matter what they have done, or what they have been through. 

 

UNICEF UK

UNICEF UK is raises funds and awareness to support UNICEF’s work to protect child rights worldwide, in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
