Teach in Kent Facebook Competition

In a bid to raise awareness of the benefits of teaching in ‘the Garden of England’ Kent County Council has just launched a rather quirky and innovative Facebook competition (My Perfect Kent Day) for experienced and aspiring teachers. In order to take part all you have to do is write a short story describing your vision of what it could be like Living and teaching in Kent. The best stories will be shortlisted and then put to a public vote. The winner will receive an all expenses weekend break in… (you guessed it) Kent.

I’m sure it will not be too difficult to find inspiration for your story and to imagine the perfect work – life balance. Kent is one of the most diverse and beautiful counties in the UK and with over 600 schools it offers a wide range of career opportunities. The area offers a unique blend of peaceful rural hamlets, busy seaside locations and vibrant market towns. All of which are teaming with history and culture and all are a short commute in to the big smoke of London. A further perk is offered by the ease of access to mainland Europe. You will be ideally situated to spend those long school holidays or even the odd weekend in France. Calais is just 35 minutes away from Folkestone or you could hop on the Eurostar at Ashford and be exploring the boutiques of Paris in under 2 hours.

So get your creative juices flowing and enter the competition now by visiting the Kent County Council Schools Facebook Page.
