This is a set of illustrated posters showing the Leuven scales for emotional wellbeing and involvement. The Leuven scales break down a child's emotional state and involvement into 5 levels. Children who are within levels 4 and 5 are more likely to be able to absorb information and learn effectively.
You could use these posters to help assess the emotional wellbeing and involvement of the children in your class. You could also print them out and display as a permanent reference for staff. The download contains some guidance on how to go about measuring wellbeing and involvement in your setting. Please note, the Leuven scales are relevant for primary, secondary, higher and adult education, not just early years settings.
