A fun and engaging game designed to build an awareness of the different ways that the number 8 can be formulated. The objective is for each player to collect 8 cards matching the colour shown on their board by taking turns to spin the spinner. To complete their board they must spin a combination of numbers that totals exactly 8. Suggested question to ask when playing the game: "You have x number of cards - how many more do you need to make 8?"
We have versions on our site where the aim is to collect either 6 or 10 cards. We also have versions of the game in many other popular early years themes.

Early Learning HQ is home to thousands of primary school / early years teaching resources, some of which are completely free to download. The site was created a few years back with the aim of becoming a high quality sparklebox alternative - helping teachers and parents to create exciting and inspiring learning environments for young children. We feel like we've gone a long way towards achieving this goal but we are always looking to improve, so if there's something you feel we can help you with or if you'd like to offer some feedback then please get in touch.
