Classical Music for Children

Over the last couple of months we have been working on ideas for a few educational iPad apps and there is one in particular that I am very excited about. The idea is to create a set of interactive picture books that zoom out to reveal different parts of the scene, and then ask the player questions about what they can see.

Today I have been thinking about the kind of music that could work with this idea and I’ve decided that classical music is definitely the way to go, so I have spent a very relaxing afternoon listening to all the greats! Below are a few of the contenders:

There seem to be a lot of babies due in my family at the moment so I’ve been looking for interesting presents to buy the parents (as opposed to yet another babygrow). During my searching I found a brilliant website called Rockabye Baby, where you can buy lullaby versions of all your favourite songs! They’v got everything from ACDC to Coldplay, so if you are looking for a really original present then it’s a great place to start!
