The Little Red Hen

The Little Red Hen originates from a Russian folktale from the 19th century, but since then it has been released by a variety of publishers including Little Golden Books and Ladybird Books. The book tells the story of a hen who finds some wheat and decides to make some bread, but none of the other farm animals will help her. Eventually she makes the bread herself and when the other animals ask to have some she eats it all herself!  This story is well-loved by children and can also be used to help teach about helping and sharing in PSED lessons.

This site provides brilliant EYFS resources that I regularly use in my early years setting. All the material is bright and colourful and is great to use as part of displays. My class especially like the Elmer the Elephant section!
