African Game 1: The Cow-Herder

About This Primary Resource

This is a popular Sudanese game that also goes by the name of ‘Dala’ and similar to checkers, except the aim of the aim is to try and capture all of your opponent’s cows. There are also simple instructions for how to make your own board and playing pieces included in this resource.

This resource has been kindly shared with us by Lessons from Africa, which is the education programme run by the charity Send a Cow.
